1897: A Curious Brown Scum

While looking for available explanations of the 1871 Chicago Fire, I stumbled upon this website here.
Here are the opening two paragraphs on the above website:
  • H.G. Wells’ 1898 novel The War of the Worlds was first illustrated by London-born Warwick Goble (22 November 1862 – 22 January 1943) for British publisher C. Arthur Pearson’s magazine, Pearson’s.
  • “I’m doing the dearest little serial for Pearson’s new magazine in which I completely wreck and sack Woking – killing my neighbours in painful and eccentric ways – then proceed via Kingston and Richmond to London, which I sack, selecting South Kensington for feats of peculiar atrocity,” wrote Goble to a friend in 1897.

Depositions of weird substances has been documented by Charles Fort "Book of the Damned" by which he means data that science ignores because it doesn't fit into their tight boxes of plausible explanations. There have been many documented falls of all kinds of materials that defy traditional explanations. For instance a huge fall of red clay happened in Australia in the 1800's. Brown scum could have been some carbonaceous material from the sky.

A lyric from Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds album. The brown scum refers to the red rain which preceded the Martian Invasion. It is the spores of the red weed which the Martians needed to survive on the otherwise inhospitable earth.
 
Many of the reset phenomena are incorporated into science fiction like War of the Worlds. The death ray = plasma discharge. Brown scum = depositions of materials from the sky. Alien deaths from bacteria = strange diseases that land from the sky. They wish to cover up the real cause of disaster resets by twisting the narrative of destruction to "aliens" and not nature.

Yes it could be clay(mud).
